Our Values
Our values are rooted in biblical text to help us remember and learn from them.
Forgiveness
We aspire to shine as lights in the world on our journey together, understanding that forgiveness is an integral part of Christian life. We should be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving as God forgives us.
Luke 15:11-32: The Parable of the Lost Son
We explored the story of The Lost Son. We thought about and discussed what forgiveness means and how this is sometimes difficult to do. We thought about what it feels like to forgive and to be forgiven and why forgiveness is important in our school and in our lives.
Love
We aspire to shine as lights in the world on our journey together, knowing our self-worth and caring for each other, our school, our environment and our world, always.
Luke 15: 3-7: The Lost Sheep
We explored the story of The Lost Sheep. We talked about what love is and the different kinds of love there are. We thought about how we can show love to each other and to the world we live in. We thought about what it means to love and value ourselves.
Encouragement
We aspire to shine as lights in the world on our journey together, encouraging each other to be the best we can be in all we do, supporting one another whenever we need it.
Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd
We explored Psalm 23 in the Old Testament of the Bible. We wrote our own version! We talked about what encouragement means and what we can say and do to encourage each other and ourselves to keep going when we find things tricky.
Wisdom
We aspire to shine as lights in the world on our journey together, learning from our experiences, making good choices, knowing that we can turn to God whenever we need to.
Matthew 7:24-27: The Wise and Foolish Builders
We explored the story of The Wise and Foolish Builders. We talked about what it means to be wise and how this differs from knowledge. We thought about how we can learn from one another and from our own mistakes.
Togetherness
We aspire to shine as lights in the world on our journey together, developing strong friendships and mutual respect for each other through a sense of community and responsibility.
1 Corinthians 12: 12-20: ‘As it is, there are many parts, but one body.’
We explored the passage in the Bible of 1 Corinthians 12 which talks about how the body has many parts but they are all needed to make one body. We thought about how this describes our school community: we are unique individuals, and each of us is valued and important. Together we make up our whole school.
